PRECERTIFICATION SPECIALIST
Amarillo Heart Institute is seeking a Full-Time Precertification Specialist. .
What are we looking for?
- This position is responsible for completing verification of benefits and precertifications/documentation processes which involves communicating with patients, primary care physician offices and insurance companies to ensure that all appropriate demographic and reimbursement information is accurate prior to the patient scheduled appointment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.

Clinical RN
Amarillo Heart Institute is currently seeking a dynamic, compassionate Full Time Cardiovascular Clinic Nurse.
What are we looking for?
- Assist in the daily clinical activities of a comprehensive cardiology clinic.
- Interested individuals must have a current Registered Nursing license and must have graduated from an approved nursing program and a minimum of 1 year experience, Cardiology preferred.
- BLS certification required,
- ACLS certification, preferred.
Hospital RN
Primary responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the hospital nursing staff is to the hospitalized patients of the Amarillo Heart Institute and any activities pertaining to these patients, which may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Daily hospital rounds
- Hospital consults
- ER admissions and consults
- Medical records and dictations
- Supporting the Amarillo Heart Institute physicians and fellow hospital nursing staff whenever necessary to accomplish the day’s work
Secondary responsibilities
The Secondary responsibilities may encompass patient care in and outside the hospital settings. These activities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assisting physicians in the office with routine patient visits
- Assisting physicians with hospital procedures (angiograms/coronary and peripheral interventions)
- Assisting physicians with office procedures (vein ablations/coronary and peripheral angiograms/peripheral interventions)
This position does require weekend call and some holidays.
RN Cath LAB
We are seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for our Cath Lab.
What are we looking for?
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-years critical care experience.
- This Cath Lab Nurse will assist as scrub, circulator/sedation RN and monitors for interventional cardiology procedures.
- Must be able to assess, plan evaluate and document total nursing process.
- Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with physicians, patients, families, multiple departments and other healthcare professionals.
PBX Operator
We are seeking a Full-Time PBX Operator.

- The PBX Operator is responsible for operating the central communication center-responding to all telephone calls.

MEDICAL OFFICE SCHEDULER
We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Scheduler.
What are we looking for?
- In this role, you will work in a fast paced, high volume cardiology practice.

- Duties include answering incoming calls, scheduling new patients in all locations, scheduling and rescheduling established patients, properly routing calls, answering basic patient questions and assisting with scanning, faxing, and filing as needed.
- This individual must have strong data entry and scheduling skills, able to multitask, have the ability to work well with a team and have a professional attitude.
- This position requires a minimum of one- year medical scheduling experience.
HOSPITAL BILLING CLERK
We are seeking a Full-Time Hospital Billing Clerk.
What are we looking for?
- Collects Medical reimbursements by gathering, coding, and transmitting patient care information; resolving discrepancies; adjusting patient bills; preparing reports.
Billing Clerk Medical Job Duties:
- Hospital billers gathers medical billing information by reviewing census and receiving information from providers and hospital nursing staff.
- Office services are reviewed every morning for the charges previously entered the day before by the physician or nursing staff. Each staff member is responsible for certain providers’ billing.
- Confirms the appropriate diagnosis from the progress note is on the Final Report of all testing before the claims are transmitted. If there is a discrepancy, it is reviewed with the physician and clinic staff and corrected.
- Claims are to be transmitted daily to the appropriate insurance carriers. A review is done to confirm that the claims were sent or if there is automatic rejection due to scrub errors.
- Works rejected claims transmitted that did not clear the scrubber daily. Contact supervisor or Care Cloud if there is a rejection by the payer that you do not understand
- No claim should remain in the bucket for longer than 1 week.
- Resolves disputed claims by gathering, verifying, and providing additional information; following-up on previously appealed claims.
- Prepares monthly reports of missing charges or incorrectly entered charges. Corrections are made if necessary or reports are taken to the physician and clinic staff.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; keeping current on medical billing and reimbursement procedures.
- Accomplishes billing department and hospital mission by completing related results as needed.
- Handle information about patient treatment, diagnosis, and related procedures by following HIPAA guidelines.
- Serves and protects the medical and hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital and office policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
